Do what high-end gourmet restaurants and the Japanese have done for centuries. Purify and soften your drinking water with traditional Binchotan coal for an outstanding water experience.
This genuine Japanese Wakayama Binchotan coal gives you a perfect and soft drinking water. The Brinchotan coal. Has a durability for 2 x 3 months, enough for about 200 liters of water.
Suztain has taken great care to import our binchotan directly from Japan where it originated and where the process is tightly controlled.
Charcoal has been an integral part of well-known commercial water filters and systems since their inception, but our binchotan comes in its original state without the plastic disposable filter you need to toss out regularly into the trash.
We've been using Japanese Binchotan now for years as a natural water purifier and we know once you try it, you'll understand why. Binchotan's porous surface attracted impurities in water and adds trace minerals to your tap water making it a clean and pure drinking experience.
One stick used daily will slowly filter a bottle of your tap water and can be used regularly without additional care for about 2-3 months before you need to boil it for 10 mins and let naturally dry. Add it back to your pitcher and the stick will be able to work well for about another month or 2 before it's unable to filter further. How do you know precisely when to boil it or when its used up? You'll taste the difference.
But once it's done its job as your water filter Binchotan coal will be able to then take on another role in your home … we've placed them in the refrigerator, under the kitchen sink or near the cat litterbox to absorb odor or dampness -- we've even taken a sledgehammer to break it to bits and add it to the soil in the garden.
It really is the water filter that just keeps on working for the home.
NOTE: Once a binchotan stick is added to your pitcher of water, you'll notice a taste difference in about an hour. But it can take up to 6-8 hours to entirely purify a full pitcher of tap water. It seems like a long time, but it's less time than a quick-purchase plastic filter or a disposable plastic water bottle will remain in a landfill or in our oceans. To make it not seem so long, we fill our pitchers at night before bed and begin enjoying it with our breakfast.
